Just a few kilometers west of the town of Banff,
lies the Sunshine Village resort. High up in the Rockies, much of
Sunshine's terrain is above the tree line making for great snow
conditions and a very long season. Needless to say, at this
altitude you can see forever with stunning mountain vistas all
around. Featuring a hotel, day lodges and equipment shop, Sunshine
Village has everything you need for a self-contained holiday.
Since Sunshine straddles the continental divide you can visit
Alberta and BC on the same run! Access to transportation to and
from the town of Banff is easy for those wanting to sample Banff
nightlife and/or do some shopping. How to get there:
Banff is located 128 km west of Calgary. Most major airlines
service Calgary International Airport and there exists scheduled
transportation, year-round to Banff. All major car rental
companies are located at the airport. Once in Banff, the Sunshine
base lodge can be accessed by regularly scheduled busses or by
driving up the access road which joins the Trans Canada Highway
just 10 kilometers west of Banff.
