The city of Kimberley is known as the
"Bavarian City of the Rockies". The area combines old European
flair with outstanding hospitality, all set off against a
beautiful backdrop of the Kootenay Mountain scenery.
The city of Kimberley is home to
excellent gift shops, unique restaurants and a variety of pubs and
night spots, and is only a few moments drive from the Ski Resort.
The downtown area is called the ‘Platzl’ and looks like a small
alpine village, closed off to traffic.
How to get there:
Kimberley is located in the heart of the East Kootenays, in
Southeast British Columbia.
From Calgary, Alberta - approximate drive time: 4hrs. Route A:
Highway #1 west to Highway #95 south to Highway 95a onto
Kimberley. Route B: Highway #1 south to Highway #22 southwest to
Highway #3/93 to Highway #95A north onto Kimberley.
By Air
*Cranbrook Airport is only a 15 minute drive to Kimberley. From
Calgary, Alberta daily flights arrive on Air Canada connectors.
