Kicking Horse Mountain
Resort, the Canadian Rockies’ newest, all-season alpine escape is
perched 1,675ft above the town of Golden. With snow so light
and dry, it’s been labeled The Champagne of Powders - there
is over 4,000 acres of this special stuff, piled to a depth of up
to 23 feet. Standing atop it all, you’re looking at a 4,133
foot ski-out, the second longest in Canada. It’s a descent
that will take you through everything from wide-scooped, alpine
bowls to steeps and glades.
How to get there:
Golden is located approximately
three-and-a-half hours (262 km) west of Calgary. The
highways accessing Golden are well maintained, and the drive
takes you through Banff and Yoho National Parks. Calgary
International Airport is the principal gateway serving all major
carriers and ground transportation options.
